Copywriter & Trainer
Jackie Barrie has been a professional copywriter for 30+ years.
She used to work for a multi-million-pound retailer, where she started by writing catalogue copy and ended up as a senior manager running a team of copywriters and graphic designers and reporting direct to the Board.
So she started her corporate career writing ‘Black skirt, two patch pockets, available in sizes 10, 12, 14 and 16’, and ended it running an internal comms project, travelling all over the world on expenses and driving a convertible company car.
Since 2001, she has been a freelance (generalist) copywriter.
One of her happiest days was when she got another convertible company car – this time, under her own company name.
Jackie is not just a copywriter; she’s also a trainer, speaker and author.
She trains recruiters how to write better ads, journalists how to add copywriting to their skill set, and small-business owners how to write better copy.
She is a professional member of the Professional Speaking Association, and founding co-president of the southeast region.
She’s also published three business books that all reached top 10 in their Amazon category on launch.
You might recognise her as an occasional participant in the ProCopywriters Forum.
