Be the good colleague.
Short, plainly written, enforced. By attending CopyCon International 2026 — as a delegate, speaker, sponsor, judge, or organiser — you agree to this code.
01The whole thing
Treat everyone the way you expect to be treated. Assume good faith. Listen as much as you talk.
02What we expect
- Treat fellow writers, speakers, sponsors and staff with respect.
- Keep your comments constructive and kind – in broadcast, in DMs, in the networking spaces.
- Respect everyone’s right to be here – regardless of seniority, employer, identity, or background.
03What we don’t accept
Harassment of any kind. Disruption of sessions. Public or private contact that someone has asked to stop. Sharing private chat or session content for the purpose of mocking other attendees. Bigotry against any protected characteristic.
This applies in every conference space – broadcast, chat, breakout rooms, social media, and anywhere the CopyCon name is used to bring people together.
04If something happens
Tell us. We can help in real time on the day, and we follow up afterwards. Email events@procopywriters.co.uk.
You can report on behalf of someone else. You don’t have to know whether what happened was “bad enough.” If something felt wrong, tell us, and we’ll work out the rest with you.
We won’t share your identity with the person you’re reporting without your permission, except where we’re legally required.
05What we do about it
We act in proportion. Depending on what happened, that can mean: a quiet word; removal from a room; refund and ticket cancellation; barring from future events; involvement of law enforcement. Decisions are made by the conference chair in consultation with the production lead. Appeals to events@procopywriters.co.uk within 14 days.
06For speakers, sponsors and judges
The same rules apply, plus: speakers don’t solicit attendee contact details on stage. Sponsors are guests – misuse of attendee contact details ends the sponsorship and forfeits the fee.
